Good afternoon Cotee River Families, this is Mrs. Slusser with your weekly information.

I want to begin by saying thank you and how appreciative I am for all of the messages I have received for Principals Day!  My heart has been filled .

Upcoming: Staff Appreciation is the week of May 4th-May 8th.  This is an opportunity to show our staff how appreciative you are for them.  Ideas are posted on our social media sites.

Quarter 4 progress reports are available today through the parent portal.  Please remember if your child has missing assignments there is still time to complete and improve their grade before quarter 4 report cards.  Although this was of learning may not be the best, it still has given us a way to provide a continued education during these times.  It is vital that our children are participating in order to continue their learning and be better prepared as they transition to their next grade level for the 20-21 school year. We are always here to assist and problem solve around any barriers you may be experiencing.

5th Grade Parents: Thank you to those who have already submitted a video of your child that will be included in our “Distance Learning Moving Up Ceremony”.   If you have not done so we would like you to write on a piece of paper “Promotion Certificate from Cotee River” You can also add what middle school your child will be attending underneath. Then video tape someone handing the certificate to your child. With a little magic behind the scenes it will look like their teacher is handing it to them. The video should be only be a couple of seconds.  There is an example provided on our Facebook page. Please either text or email the video to Steve Loveless sloveles@pasco.k12.fl.us or (813) 362-6222.  The deadline was today but we will extend it until next Friday at the latest because we will need time to put everything together. If we do not receive a video from you, we will do our best to add in a picture that was used in the yearbook or hold up a promotion certificate with your child’s name on it.  Although we will not be able to have families and scholars on our campus, we are still planning to host a Facebook Live Promotion Ceremony, on May 26th tentatively planned to start at 12:30.  More information to come.

Schools received the guidelines for students being able to pick up their belongings left at school (some additional items include Spring pictures, yearbooks, SOM from April, 5th grade promotion certificates/rewards if applicable) and on the same day you would return your device if borrowed from our school, along with any library books from the classroom or media center, 5th grade safety patrol belts and any other items borrowed from the school.  Also, if your child wears a vest on the bus it will also need to be returned and we will make sure transportation receives it.  The two days will be held on May 28th and 29th.  We will use the front bus loop and car loop on both days. During the process all families will stay in their vehicle. The drafted times will be posted on our website, along with this message.
