Good afternoon Cotee River Families, this is Mrs. Slusser with your weekly information. Friday was our Read-A-Thon. All classes engaged in 60 minutes of reading. You can still sneak in last minute donations. On October 30th we will announce the scholar from each class, who raised the most funds, and they will receive a $25 credit for books from Scholastic News! We will also announce which class from each grade level raised the most money on their team and they will receive 10% of the funds they raised in their classroom, that will go directly back to their classroom. We will wait until the 30th in order to allow enough time for flat donations and pledges per minute read to be collected.
Also, on Friday we kicked off Red Ribbon Week. Monday: Pair up against drugs. TWIN day! Match with a friend; Tuesday: Go Crazy against drugs. It’s crazy hair day!; Wednesday: Sock it to Drugs. Silly Sock Day!; Thursday We Dream of a drug free world. Pajama day!; Friday: We are #COTEESTRONG. Show your lightning Pride. Dress up in school colors or wear your Cotee River T-shirts!
Monday we will hold our Scholar of the Month for the character trait Composure. We will host the celebration through Facebook Live and fingers crossed there are no technology issues. Scholar of the Month for grades PreK-2nd will start at 10:00 and 3rd-5th will start at 10:30. Tuesday report cards will be available on-line through the parent portal, by the evening. Those who ordered Boo Grams, will be delivered to classes on Friday. We hope everyone has a great start to your week and we look forward to seeing everyone’s bright smiling faces ready to learn no later than 9:40, Monday morning. Take care.
