We are making changes to our SchoolMessenger notification system that will allow us to better communicate with parents and employees via SMS text message. On Monday, September 19, we are applying this change, which means parents will receive a text message informing them that they are now registered to receive text messages from Pasco County Schools. The message they receive will come from the number 67587 and will state the following:
You’re registered 4 SchoolMessenger messages. Txt STOP to quit, HELP 4 help. Std msg/data rates may apply. Freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/tm
If you receive any inquiries, please let parents/staff know that this message is legitimate. Also, while they can opt out by responding with the word STOP to that text message, we would discourage them from option out, as we plan to use texts to send important information to them using SchoolMessenger. For instance, we have recently begun directly notifying parents at the secondary level when their student has a grade of C or below in a class. Those messages are being delivered via email and text, and we need to ensure a high delivery rate.
