Family Message August 2nd, 2021
Good afternoon Cotee River families, this is Mrs. Slusser with important information. It is important that you stay connected in order to have the most up to date information as we start the 21-22 school year.
Mark your calendar for important upcoming dates and times:
- Thursday, August 5th Meet the Teacher and Registration Day: 9:30-12:00 Pre-K-2nd; 1:00-3:30 3rd-5th (Based on oldest child and able to visit all classes).
- Please limit to parents and our students.
- All families will start off in our cafeteria. In the cafeteria you will receive important information, pay school fees and receive your child’s teacher name.
- We will also have school t-shirts available for purchase (cash or check).
- When you attend Meet the Teacher Day, you may choose to bring in your child’s supplies. Please label all items with your child’s name and place applicable items in a pencil box or zipper pouch.
- We will limit three families, at a time, when visiting your child’s classroom. We ask that you form a line outside the classroom door, if there are already three families in the classroom. In the hallway, please implement social distancing, while waiting to go in.
- If you are unable to attend Meet the Teacher Day you can access your child’s teacher name and bus information (if applicable) on the myStudent Parent Portal. Please check this on August 9th so you will know who your child’s teacher is for the first day of school. If you have not registered, you can do so by going to the Cotee River website (cres.pasco.k12.fl.us) and select the parent drop down and then select parent portal and follow the directions provided.
- If you are going on the Parent Portal, prior to Meet the Teacher Day, class lists are currently drafted and not finalized, as we continue to have families enroll and will make changes as needed.
- Parent Fees can now be paid through your parent portal verses brining in the money. Thank you to our families who have already paid.
- Tuesday, August 10th: Children’s first day of school
- On the first day of school parents only may walk their child to the classroom and drop off at the door. We will begin at 9:15
- PTA will host our KG Boo Hoo Breakfast. The time will be from 9:30-10:00. If you are a KG parent and would like to attend, please check in at the front office, after you drop your child off to class.

Arrival
- Length of Day: 9:30 -3:50
- Drop Off may begin at 9:25 (only drop student off if there is a Cotee River Staff member or Safety Patrol Student present)
- All students who arrive after the tardy bell rings (9:40 am) will need to enter the school escorted by a parent through the office. A tardy slip will be given to the child and they will be sent to class
- Instruction begins promptly at 9:40 am.
Dismissal
- Begins at 3:50 pm
- Early Release Day begins at 1:50 pm
