Cotee River Parent/Guardian:
On Wednesday February 23rd, we will be holding our health screenings for all
Kindergarten, First and Third grade scholars. Health screenings are mandated by the
Florida Department of Health and are required for specific grade levels, whether the
scholar is in a regular education class or an ESE class. Screening for health problems is
completed during each school year.
· Kindergarten scholars will receive vision and hearing screenings
· First grade scholars will receive vision, hearing, height and weight (BMI) screenings
· Third grade scholars will receive vision, hearing (Title 1 Schools), height and weight
(BMI) screenings
· Any scholar new to a Florida school will receive vision, hearing, height and weight
(BMI) screenings
If you do not wish for your scholar to participate in the health screening, please send a
written opt out/refusal letter to the school office by the date of February 16th.
