Good afternoon Cotee River Families, this is Mrs. Slusser with your weekly information.
As of today we have completed Week 2 because there is no school Friday in observance of Good Friday. Please know that teachers also have this day off and will be back to virtual learning on Monday. The office will be open our regularly scheduled hours if you need to call and leave a message.
Important Parent Tips for the upcoming week: Continue to check daily announcements within your child’s MyLearning Platform. Also, please read the parent newsletters that are provided from district and sent out to families. The most recent was Issue 3 on April 7, 2020. Important information and updates are shared these these platforms. For example you will be receiving information that a decision to remove all Mid- and End-of-Module assessments from the Elementary Mathematics courses was made. Also, the design of the platform is being looked at in order for children and their families to better be able to identify what assignments are must dos and which one’s are can dos. The district continues to review the curriculum and make updates that will help alleviate some of the frustrations.
If you are still needing a device please call the front office at 727 774-3000 to schedule a time on Tuesday, starting at 11:00 a.m.
Also next week will will have spirit week through virtual learning! Monday: Pajama day; Tuesday: Crazy Hat Day; Wednesday Take a picture with your pet or favorite stuffed animal and post on our Cotee River Facebook, Twitter or class social media platform, Thursday Wear Crazy Socks; Friday wear Cotee River shirt or school colors.
We are very proud of our children and their families that have been trying hard to manage this new way of learning. We know there are struggles and frustrations through this process, along with many more celebrations of success stories. Everyone’s success story will be based on your individual circumstances. For some their success was being able to assist their child submitting an assignment and others they completed the weeks worth of instruction. Regardless of where you are at in this journey it is important to celebrate every step along the way and make sure you build in breaks throughout the day. Our staff will continue to reach out to support families that are showing their child has not logged on and/or not engaged in the on-line learning in order to provide any assistance we can to help with the transition to the virtual learning platform. We want to make sure your child is still able to receive their education during this time.
Hope everyone enjoys your evening. Take care.
