Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day
This is to offer guidance regarding Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, which is Thursday, April 27, 2023. That is the official date for the national celebration, and it appears there are no major conflicts on our calendars.
It will be up to site administrators to decide whether students should miss a day of school to go to work with their parents, and whether employees should bring their school-age children to work with them. Children younger than 5 are considered too young to be in the workplace, and it is preferable for children in 3rd through 8th grade to take part in this observation. Ultimately, site administrators have final say on age appropriateness.
With this in mind, we will use the same process we have used in the past. Parents who want to take their daughter or son out of school to participate in the event must prearrange the student’s absence with his or her principal and teacher(s).
