Family Message July 13th

Good evening Cotee River families, this is Mrs. Slusser with important information.  We are very excited for the upcoming school year.  As we prepare for the upcoming school year, our families will begin to receive important messages from us.

Starting today our office staff began reaching out to our families that did not select one of the three options.  If a phone message was left it is important that you return the phone call in order for us to input your choice for the start of the school year. We will be using this information to determine class lists and finalize staff assignments as we begin the school year.

Due to current guidelines we will need to change some of our procedures to start off the school year.  The first change will be Meet the Teacher/Orientation Day, on Thursday August 6th. All of Pasco County schools will be hosting on-campus Meet the Teacher/Orientation Days for scholars in transition years (Pre-K, Kindergarten, 6th grade and 9th grade).  Our PreK and KG scholars, at Cotee River will be able to come visit their child’s classroom on August 6th from 11:30-4:00.  Children in grades 1st-5th will have a virtual option to meet their teacher and see their new classroom.  Additional information/details will be provided as we move closer to the date.

Parents will be able to locate their child’s teacher name and bus information (if applicable) on the myStudent Parent Portal.  Please check this by August 5th so you will know who your child’s teacher is for the August 6th Meet the Teacher/Orientation Day. If you have not registered, you can do so by going to the Cotee River website (cres.pasco.k12.fl.us) and select the parent drop down and then select parent portal and follow the directions provided.  If there needs to be any changes to your child’s teacher, after August 5th, you will be notified directly.

Due to the majority of our families not being able to come on campus for Meet the Teacher/Orientation Day we will mail out packets to all of our registered families, with the address we have on file.  If your address needs to be updated call our front office, at 727 774-3000 ASAP, so we can update before mailing packets out on July 15th.  The packets will include important items that your child will need.  The packet will include: Emergency and Clinic cards that should be returned Day 1 and no later than Day 2 of school; Car Tags and Car wrist Bands with instructions; Calendar at a Glance with important information, Class Supply List and PLACE information if you need to sign up your child.   If you chose option 1 or 2 we will need you to return your child’s emergency and clinic card.  If you have chosen option 3, Pasco eSchool we will not need the cards returned at this time.  If you do not receive a packet by July 23rd please call the front office so we can get one delivered to you or make an appointment to come pick one up.

We hope everyone is staying well and safe.  Take care.  Mrs. Slusser
